Feb. Meeting Moved to Feb. 21. PUBLIC MEETING: RESOLUTION - METERED BILLING FOR WATER

URGENT NOTICE – METERED BILLING CLARIFICATION

It has come to our attention that some freeholders may believe their total Conservancy bill will reflect only the amount of water used. This is not correct.

To remain financially solvent and continue providing essential services, the Conservancy must charge a minimum base rate, in addition to billing for metered water usage.

Below are examples of monthly charges based on usage levels. These examples apply to freeholders who own full lots with water pits and sewer drops.

EXAMPLE 1: 0–2,000 Gallons (Minimum Bill)

  • Water (0–2,000 gallons): $27.54

  • 7% tax: $1.93

  • Wastewater: $39.06

  • Wastewater Management: $21.00

Total Minimum Bill: $89.53

EXAMPLE 2: 2,001–3,000 Gallons

  • Water: $33.00

  • 7% tax: $2.31

  • Wastewater: $39.06

  • Wastewater Management: $21.00

Total Bill: $95.37

EXAMPLE 3: 3,001–4,000 Gallons

  • Water: $41.00

  • 7% tax: $2.87

  • Wastewater: $39.06

  • Wastewater Management: $21.00

Total Bill: $103.93

Each additional 1,000 gallons over 3,000 gallons will be charged at $8.00 per 1,000 gallons, plus applicable tax.

Water charges increase based on actual metered usage above 2,000 gallons. Wastewater and Wastewater Management charges remain unchanged unless otherwise notified.

If you have questions regarding your billing, please contact the Conservancy office.

ORIGINAL NOTICE BELOW

The Feb. monthly meeting has been moved to Feb. 21 (third week of the month) to accommodate the advertisement requirements and the public meeting for the 2nd reading and voting of Resolution 2026-01-17: ammending the rates and charges for the waterworks utility in preparation for metered billing.

The figures below are ONLY reflective of the water charges on the bill (taxes for those water charges when above 2000 gallons will also increase accordingly). Wastewater/sewer charge or other charges that are on billing statements will not be affected at present.

The water rates proposed for metered/volumetric billing, and as written in Resolution 2026-01-17 are as follows. These rates are based on data from a professional study of customer useage over the past 12 months and longer:

Gallons Used (Per Month) Metered Rates Taxes
0 $27.54 $1.93
1000 $27.54 $1.93
2000 $27.54 $1.93
2001 - 3000 $33.00 $2.31
3001 - 4000 $41.00 $2.87
4001 - 5000 $49.00 $3.43
5001 - 6000 $57.00 $3.99
6001 - 7000 $65.00 $4.55
7001 - 8000 $73.00 $5.11
8001 - 9000 $81.00 $5.67
9001 - 10000 $89.00 $6.23
10001 - 11000 $93.00 $6.51
11001 - 12000 $97.00 $6.79
12001 - 13000 $101.00 $7.07
13001 - 14000 $105.00 $7.35
14001 - 15000 $109.00 $7.63

Wastewater/sewer rates will be adjusted based on volumetric/metered water use at a later time. A year-long study will be performed once the volumetric/metered billings for the water portion of the bill go into effect to determine how best to adjust wastewater/sewer rates. A future resolution will be determined shortly after that time.

Please let us know if you need any further details or clarification about the shift to volumetric/metered billing (versus flat-rate billing) for water charges.

Thank you.
